«The life of Marcos Antil narrated in IMMIGRANT, is a living testimony full of truth that leaves droplets of humanity on each of its page. It awakens the human conscience and shatters the silence about the cruelty experienced by the most dispossessed of the planet, becoming a story that represents collective memory.»

Rigoberta Menchú Tum, Nobel Peace Laureate 1992

I am Marcos Antil

Guatemalan, Mayan Q’anjob’al, immigrant, family man, tech entrepreneur.

Born and raised in Santa Eulalia, Huehuetenango, Guatemala; at fourteen I migrated undocumented and unaccompanied by any family member to the United States of America, fleeing the war – just as thousands of children from the region continue attempting today in order to flee poverty, hunger and criminal violence. I went to high school and university in California. I worked as a gardener on weekends, and that is how I found an unexpected link to the technology industry. Taking this path led me to overcome limits that seemed impossible; transforming my reality, that of my family and that of my community.

This is my story.

Soy Marcos Antil, guatemalteco, maya, emprendedor tecnologico, migrante
